What is counselling and how will it benefit me?
Counselling is a collaborative process between a client and the therapist, where the
client can express their concerns in a supportive space. This process of talk therapy will help
you understand yourself better, find ways to cope, and make positive changes. Many people
find that counselling helps them feel less overwhelmed, more in control, and better able to
handle life’s challenges.
How do I know if I need counselling?
If you are experiencing stress, sadness, anxiety, or difficulties in your relationships,
counselling can be beneficial. It is okay to reach out even if you are unsure. Counselling is
helpful for anyone looking to better understand themselves or work through personal
issues.
How many sessions will I need?
We usually suggest starting with around six sessions, as this provides a good foundation
for progress. However, the number of sessions is entirely flexible, and we can adjust to more
or fewer based on your preferences. We will work together to see what suits you best.
How long does each session last?
Each session lasts for 50 minutes.
What are the fees and can we get discount?
We charge £40 per 50-minute session for individuals who are aged 18 and above. We
also offer reduced rates for students (£30), veterans (£30) and low-income individuals (£20).
We only accept card payments, that we would charge before each session.
Do you offer individual or group therapy?
We offer individual therapy, which gives you one-on-one time with the therapist to
focus on your goals.
What can I expect in the first session?
Our first session is a gentle introduction, where you could begin by talking about your
goals and discuss what you are hoping to achieve from these therapy sessions. You can share
what is on your mind, and we will explore how counselling might support you in achieving
your goals.
What if I do not feel better right away?
Therapy is a process, and it might take a few sessions to start noticing changes within
yourself. It is okay if you do not feel better immediately. Progress can take time as we work
through things together.
What if I have trouble opening up to the therapist?
It is normal to feel hesitant. Take your time, and do not feel pressured to share
everything right away. We will go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
What if I am worried about being judged for my thoughts or behaviors?
Counselling is a judgment-free space, where you are welcome to bring any thought or
feeling, no matter how difficult. Our focus is on understanding and supporting you
throughout your therapeutic journey.
I feel I can express myself better in another language. Do you offer sessions in any other languages?
Yes, we can offer sessions in Hindi and Tamil in addition to English as we understand
the importance of feeling comfortable in your native language.
Will I be able to contact the therapist outside of sessions if needed?
Outside of our scheduled sessions, contact is limited to rescheduling appointments.
This helps us to ensure that each session of ours remains focused and supportive. If
something urgent comes up, we will address it when we meet in the counselling session.
How regularly will I see my counsellor?
We will meet once a week. However, we are open to discussing what works best for
you and schedule appointments accordingly.
What kind of clients do you typically work with?
We work with adults from different backgrounds and ethnicity, each bringing unique
life experiences and concerns. Common topics include stress, grief, anxiety, depression, and
relationships, but counselling is open to anyone seeking support.
What happens if the technology fails and our session is interrupted?
If a technical issue arises, we will pause and try to reconnect. If needed, we can
reschedule our session or switch to a phone call.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask you to give us a 24 hours’ notice of cancellation or you will have to pay for the
session. An exception may be made in the case of an emergency.
